Based on the idea of rhythm and pacing in book design, the prompt of this exercise was to take a square that was one inch by one inch from a magazine and create a narrative based on the image squares. I chose images of women in high-end clothing as well as abstracted patterns from the clothing to push the theme of the sexualization of women often seen in ad campaigns. Using aggressive typography, the titles often are a slap to the face to bring this dark subject into the light. Words are highlighted, chopped, and crossed out to show hidden meanings as well as the shattered emotions these women feel.
